France has always been known for its refined cuisine.
There are therefore plenty of options for eating out.
From a simple meal in a village cafe to an extensive dinner in a chic restaurant. People are proud of local delicacies , and a lot of local products are used, such as the meat of the charolais cows, cheeses from Auvergne and wine from Saint-Pourcain.
In Lapalisse you will find several restaurants, such as
Le Moulin Marin which is located in a converted watermill.
But you can also visit this village for a pizza. In Le Mayet de Montagne you can eat in the cozy Vieille Auberge with its traditional cuisine.
The French are used to an extensive dinner at noon. You can also go to many village cafes for a ' plat du jour' (daily menu). You usually get an excellent meal for a very reasonable price.
If you want to eat really luxurious once, you can make a reservation in Troanne with Troisgros. This restaurant has had three Michelin stars for quite some time.
If some day, you were to go to Lyon, you could go to a star restaurant of the famous Paul Bocuse.
It is funny to know, that he once came cycling down from the hills, as a little boy, and after his journey of fifteen miles he volunteered as an apprentice chef. Thanks to his perseverance he now holds a series of top restaurants. A must is the brasserie where Paul Bocuse used to work as a boy and which is now owned by his family: Brasserie Le Nord, 18 rue Neuve,
Lyon +33 472106969.
The most popular restaurant in the city, especially at lunch
(€ 27.50 for 3 courses). Here you will find all Paul Bocuse 's Brasseries.
Sadly enough Paul Bocuse passed away in Jan. 2018. But fortunately, his son Jérôme Bocuse continues his work.
In the Michelin guide you will find all restaurants in Lyon (and all of France) (here all restaurants in Lyon with Michelin stars).
